The most common—and let's face it—most
inexpensive birthday gift you can give someone is a birthday card. Inside
special birthday cards, you can inscribe any type of greeting you want—or, at least,
a suitable greeting befitting the person you've giving the card.
Greetings are simply a way we all
communicate with each other, mostly for the purpose of attracting the attention
of another person, usually suggesting the type of relationship we happen to
have with another person. Many different types of greetings are used all over
the world, each day—and even more so when someone's having a birthday. Giving a
birthday card to someone you care about the most lets them know that you care;
birthday cards can be highly personalized gifts, even if you purchase the card
from a store.
Birthdays are supposed to be special days
for those who are celebrating, so why not brighten up their days with a few
funny birthday wishes? After all, it doesn't hurt to laugh just a little on
someone's birthday or your own birthday. You've probably heard the eternally
present saying that all birthdays are exceptional, so you should feel special
on your special day.
And the truth is—you should feel special, whether
it's your own birthday or someone's birthday.
You'll probably want to write something
special inside a birthday card, right? Why not inscribe a birthday wish—or
two—inside? For starters, if you want to make your loved one laugh or crack a
smile on their special day, why not write in some funny birthday wishes?
As an example, here are a few funny
birthday wishes you may be familiar with, as many have been passed around
through hearsay over the years:
“You're not
getting older, you're just approaching death a little faster. Happy birthday.”
“Happy birthday
on your most special day—I hope you don't die as you eat your cake.”
“Growing old is
compulsory; growing up is optional.”
“We know we're
getting of age when the only happening we want for our birthday is not to be informed
of it.”
And there's even a funny birthday wish in
the form of a short poem:
“Money's tight,
Times are hard,
Here's your flipping
birthday card.”
A funny birthday wish can be simple and to
the point or long and elaborate, depending on the type of humor you have. It's
always best, however, not to get too offensive, as you might offend someone.
